Based in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Intercept Medical Pty Ltd provides professional prehospital care support and services to various clients, including motorsport, industrial, mining, film and television, adventure racing, rodeos, campdrafts and shows to name a few.
In addition, Intercept Medical Pty Ltd provides limited non emergency transfer services within NSW with the provision of ground transport on behalf of SkyMed Aeromedical and is a member of the EMSA Ambulance Group in association with Emergency Medical Services Australia Pty Ltd, one of the largest private prehospital care services in the industry.
Formed in 2009, Intercept Medical Pty Ltd has grown from a small single person operation to a large service with a large number of exclusive clients, both domestic and international.
There are many service providers within the industry who have basic training and claim the title of paramedic. Intercept Medical Pty Ltd paramedics are externally accredited, undertake nationally recognised training courses, are required to undertake a stringent skills maintenance procedure each year and operate under protocols and guidelines, with skill sets that mirror the state ambulance services.
Intercept Medical Pty Ltd has stringent privacy standards that ensures the confidentiality of all of our patients. In addition, we have a media management policy that prevents details of incidents from being shared publicly without consultation to our clients. We also have strict media standards that aim to prevent the media from filming or photographing patients undertaking treatment to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
Intercept Medical Pty Ltd is not a statutory ambulance service within NSW under Section 67E of the Health Services Act 1997 (NSW) or Schedule 2 of the Health Services Regulations NSW. As such, we do not provide a general emergency response ambulance service to the public and only operate under contract to events and clients.
In the event of an emergency, you will need to contact 000 or present at your local emergency department. Any persons contacting our operations centre and requesting an ambulance response will have their details passed onto the closest state ambulance operations centre or NSW Police for management.
Intercept Medical Pty Ltd is not able to provide emergency transportation of injured and ill persons within NSW any persons requiring this will be referred to Ambulance Service NSW for emergency transport. Intercept Medical Pty Ltd is not responsible for any costs associated with transport or any refusal for transport by ASNSW.
We note that the 1300 number for our operations centre is similar to the complaints/accounts number of Optus Singtel Communications. We thank those who are polite to our operations centre staff when identified that they have contacted the incorrect number and will not tolerate the abuse and threats that our staff have received from Optus customers over the status of your phone services.
